Philips Respironics Pico Mask

The Philips Respironics Pico CPAP mask is a nasal style interface for the treatment of sleep apnea. A nasal style mask provides a seal around the nose only through which pressurized air is delivered. The Pico is a very small and lightweight, with minimal contact with the face while offering simplicity and comfort and a great seal. It is available in 3 cushion sizing options: Small/Medium, Large, and Extra Large. All Pico cushion seals will fit the universal frame.

The cushion is permanently attached to a hard acrylic shell which snaps on and off of the mask for easy replacement. The cushion seal should be wiped down daily for cleaning and maintenance. The headgear uses four adjustable straps to dial in the right fit for comfort while obtaining a good mask seal. The back of the headgear acts as a crown to make sure the mask does not move during positional changes during sleep.

Special Features and Benefits

  • Minimal Contact: The Pico mask has a low-profile with a minimalist frame that reduces facial contact and eliminates the need for a wide, hard forehead support.
  • Forehead Support: This mask has no traditional forehead support, the soft headgear loops through the top of the frame creates a small, ultra-soft, adjustable forehead support at the top of the mask .
  • Pico Cushions: The dual-wall design features an inner wall that seals softly against the face and an outer wall that provides support and stability. Pico cushions are available in three sizes -- Small/Medium, Large & Extra Large.
  • Sizes: All sizes of Pico cushions fit the single size Pico frame.
  • Replacement: The cushion is permanently attached to a hard acrylic shell which snaps on and off of the mask for easy replacement.
  • Headgear: The Pico headgear is soft and slim with quick release clips, for easy application and removal, and four convenient Velcro adjustment points. Two headgear sizes are available, Standard and Reduced Size. All mask come with the Standard Headgear while the Reduced Size is available as an additional option for more petite users at check-out.

silicone cushion that seals around the outside of the nose only.

Will This Brand
of CPAP Mask Work with My CPAP or Bi-Level Machine?

Most CPAP masks are designed
to be universal and will work with any manufacturer. Example: Your Philips
Respironics CPAP mask will work with your ResMed CPAP machine. The masks are
also designed to fit any brand of standard 22mm CPAP tubing. The exception to
the rule will be for certain travel CPAP machines like the ResMed AirMini
whereas special masks and connectors are needed.

I Want to Submit a Self-Claim to My Insurance. Can I Do
This?

In most cases you can submit a claim form for an out-of-net
network provider. You may receive reimbursement back from your provider
depending on your coverage and co-pay. The HCPC code for a nasal CPAP mask is
A7034 and A7035

How Often Should I Replace This Mask?

This will depend on how well you clean and maintain your
CPAP mask. The typical lifespan for the complete mask is 3-12 months based on
care. The cushion seal and headgear should be replaced every 1-3 months based
on wear and tear. Signs to replace will include noticeable mask leakage and/or
discoloration.

How Do I Clean This Mask?

You should consult the owner’s manual that is
included with your mask system. The rule of thumb for most CPAP masks is to
clean with mild soap by hand and let air dry. It is important to clean your
cushion seal daily to remove facial oils, makeup or dirt that can cause mask leaks.
Your headgear strap should be cleaned by hand weekly and left to dry by room
air.

Comfortable

I chose this mask system after 5 different nasal and pillow style masks. This one offered the most comfort of the 5 I tried. I recommended this to anyone especially women with smaller faces.
