System One Ultra Fine Disposable Filters

This Product DOES NOT Require a Prescription

Product Description

The Ultra Fine Filters are made by Philips Respironics, made of white fibers and increase the protection of air pollutants when used with a pollen filter in the System One 50 or 50 Series CPAP and BiPAP machines. Higher levels of air pollution (Air Quality Index of 101-150) are one of many reasons a user will add the ultra-fine filter to their machine. Other reasons for users to add the ultra-fine filter are pets in the home, common allergies as well as seasonal allergies. If neither one pertains to you, you can still benefit from the use of an Ultra Fine Filter as it will still add filtration of room air prior to you breathing it through the machine.

The filters are disposable and are not meant for cleaning! If you happen to get the filter wet, replace it with a new one and dispose of the other. These filters are meant to be replaced every 1-2 months depending on the user's environment. You will typically see the filter change from white to slightly grey or even black. It is extremely important to change this filter and should be considered as important as your Home Furnace filter!  Improper cleaning of the pollen filter and replacement of the Ultra Fine Filter could cause your CPAP or Bi-PAP machine to overwork and eventually fail!

How Often Should I Replace My Filters?

To make sure that the air quality you breathe during the
night is high and safe, you need to replace or clean the CPAP filters
periodically. If you have pets, have someone in your home who smokes, or have a
wood-burning stove, you will need to replace the filters more regularly. Disposable
CPAP filters should be replaced every 1-3 months. You cannot reuse them. You
will want to change the disposable in-line bacteria filters every 30 days.

Reusable filters should be replaced every 12-24 months depending
on routine maintenance.

How Do I Clean My Machine Filter?

Unless your machine uses a reusable filter, it is recommended
to dispose of the CPAP filter and not attempt to clean and reuse. Disposable filters
are typically made of a thin white material and should be disposed/replaced
when noticeable build up can be seen or it has been 3 months. Reusable filters
are made of foam-like material and can be cleaned by hand and left to air dry.

I Want to Submit a Self-Claim to My Insurance. Can I Do
This?

In most cases you can submit a claim form for an out-of-net
network provider. You may receive reimbursement back from your provider
depending on your coverage and co-pay. The HCPC code for disposable CPAP
filters is A7038. The HCPC code for reusable CPAP filters is A7039.

Do I Need a Prescription for This Product?

No, machine and mask parts do not require a prescription for
purchase. Often you can prolong the life of your CPAP machine by replacing your
CPAP filter on a frequent basis!
