ResPlus Byond CPAP Filter

This Product DOES NOT Require a Prescription

Product Description

The Pollen Foam Filters made by Spirit Medical and are made from a foam material that can be cleaned and re-used. The filters are designed to be specifically used with the ResPlus Auto and CPAP machines.

The recommended cleaning time for these filters is weekly but depends on the user's environment. Users with a higher air quality index (more air pollutants) may need to clean or replace their filters on a more frequent basis. Cleaning a pollen filter weekly is a good habit and will promote higher quality of air being supplied by the machine. When cleaning, use warm, soapy water and fully rinse all soap suds from the filter. Never place a wet filter into the machine, so ensure the filter is completely dry.

If the user sees the filter collecting a large amount of air particles on the outside of the machine (hair, dirt, dust, etc.), the user needs to replace the filter. After replacing the filter, the user needs to keep a close eye on the filter because this excessive build up can cause the machine to malfunction or even completely fail if left for too long. The machine uses room air to provide positive air pressure to the user and a filter that cannot breathe causes the machine to overwork. If this has occurred, you need to keep a closer eye on cleaning the filters because this build up can cause your machine to overwork.

Included In This Package

Recommended Replacement Schedule

  • Tube Hose: Every 1-3 Months (or as needed)

How Often Should I Replace My Filters?

To make sure that the air quality you breathe during the
night is high and safe, you need to replace or clean the CPAP filters
periodically. If you have pets, have someone in your home who smokes, or have a
wood-burning stove, you will need to replace the filters more regularly. Disposable
CPAP filters should be replaced every 1-3 months. You cannot reuse them. You
will want to change the disposable in-line bacteria filters every 30 days.

Reusable filters should be replaced every 12-24 months depending
on routine maintenance.

How Do I Clean My Machine Filter?

Unless your machine uses a reusable filter, it is recommended
to dispose of the CPAP filter and not attempt to clean and reuse. Disposable filters
are typically made of a thin white material and should be disposed/replaced
when noticeable build up can be seen or it has been 3 months. Reusable filters
are made of foam-like material and can be cleaned by hand and left to air dry.

I Want to Submit a Self-Claim to My Insurance. Can I Do
This?

In most cases you can submit a claim form for an out-of-net
network provider. You may receive reimbursement back from your provider
depending on your coverage and co-pay. The HCPC code for disposable CPAP
filters is A7038. The HCPC code for reusable CPAP filters is A7039.

Do I Need a Prescription for This Product?

No, machine and mask parts do not require a prescription for
purchase. Often you can prolong the life of your CPAP machine by replacing your
CPAP filter on a frequent basis!
