Respironics Backflow Prevention Valve - Pressure Valve, Single

This genuine Respironics Backflow Prevention Valve helps protect the CPAP or Bi-PAP. This small, spring-loaded device acts as an essential safeguard, automatically preventing water or oxygen from flowing back into your machine when it is turned off. By creating a one-way barrier, it ensures your device's sensitive internal components are protected from accidental damage caused by fluid or gas backflow.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Automatic Machine Protection: When the machine is off, the valve's spring seals shut, preventing any backflow. Any excess fluid or gas is safely vented out of the side ports providing protection of your device.
  • Unaffected Therapy: When using a machine at pressures of 2 cm H2O or higher, the valve automatically opens to allow air to flow seamlessly through the circuit to your mask, without affecting your pressure settings.
  • Universal 22mm Connections: Designed for broad compatibility, the valve features standard 22mm connections on both the inlet and outlet sides. It connects directly to your machine's outlet port and accepts a bacteria filter or standard CPAP tubing on the other end.

Important Note

This product is a safety valve designed to protect your machine. It is not an exhalation port and does not vent exhaust gas during therapy. It must be used in conjunction with a mask that has a separate exhalation vent.

Why would asomeone use a backflow prevention valve?

  • This valve is especially useful for users who use a heated humidifier, supplemental oxygen, or both. It protects the motor and other internal parts of your machine from accidental fluid or oxygen damage.

Is this a replacement for the exhalation port on a mask?

  • No, this valve is not an exhalation port. You must use a mask that has its own built-in exhalation port for venting exhaled air.
