Chest Band for Night Shift Sleep Positioner

This is the optional chest band for the Night Shift Sleep Positioner by Advanced Brain Monitoring. This is the chest band only, the sleep positioner is sold separately. Currently available in size standard. For XL sizes please contact our customer service department for special orders.

The Night Shift is a patented, clinically-proven therapy for patients with positional obstructive sleep apnea (POSA) that can be worn around the neck or chest. After allowing the user time to fall asleep in any position, it begins to gently vibrate when the user attempts to back-sleep. The vibration then gradually increases in intensity until the user changes position. Night Shift is an intelligent, interactive monitor that also allows patients and clinicians to track sleep quality and therapeutic effectiveness via the Night Shift application on iOS & Android devices or a web-based portal. Night Shift can also be combined with a wrist oximeter to screen for POSA and/or assess the benefits of combination therapy.

How Does It Work?

  • Comfortably worn on either your neck or chest
  • Slowly increases vibration intensity until you change position, typically without waking you up
  • Allows you and your physician to monitor the effectiveness of therapy, your sleep quality, and snoring
  • Provides you either 15 or 30 minutes to fall asleep before it begins to vibrate when you start to sleep on your back

Q: How do I know if I am a good candidate for Night Shift Therapy?

A: If you were diagnosed with Sleep Apnea you are a good candidate
for Night Shift if:

  • Your sleep study report shows your “supine” sleep apnea severity is two times your severity when you don’t sleep on your back (i.e.,
supine apnea hypopnea index (AHI) is twice as high as your non-supine AHI)
  • Your non-supine AHI is less than 20 events per hour

Q: How does the Night Shift keep me off my back?

A: The Night Shift delivers vibrations once you lay on your back. Vibrations will start at a very light intensity and will gradually increase if you are not responding. These vibrations act as an alert to make you move off your back.

Q: What if I can’t fall asleep unless I am on my back?

A: Night Shift delays the start of therapy for 15 minutes
after the device is turned on in order to give you time to fall asleep on your back. If you need more time, you can use the App or Report Portal to increase the delay to 30 minutes

Q: What health conditions limit me from using the device?

A. We recommend that Night Shift is not used on patients who:

  • Suffer from tics or tremors of the head
  • Suffer from cardiac arrhythmia corrected by an artificial pace-maker
  • Have a neck less than 12 inches (30 cm) or greater than 22 inches (56 cm) OR have a chest larger than 59 inches (150 cm)
  • Are currently suffering from neck, shoulder, or back pain
  • Have an open cut or wound near where the Night Shift is worn (you may need to temporarily discontinue use)
  • The Night Shift device generates localized magnetic fields (less than 0.02 mT) that must be kept at least 6 inches (15 cm) from an
implanted medical device of the user or bed partner.
