ResMed Mirage Liberty

CPAP machines are always used with a CPAP mask to deliver the user’s therapeutic needs for sleep apnea. Masks are connected to CPAP machines through CPAP tubing, and there are different CPAP masks to choose from. Users can choose from full-face masks, nasal pillows, and nasal masks, each having their own benefits and delivering what the user needs.

One of the most important features of any CPAP mask is the headgear. A CPAP mask with headgear guarantees that the mask doesn’t get displaced while the user is asleep, but sometimes the headgear is not enough to keep the CPAP mask secure.

Some users have a narrow nose bridge, and that can cause air leakages when using their CPAP machines despite the snug fit provided by the headgear. Fortunately, ResMed has innovated a hybrid mask that combines the design of nasal pillow masks and full-face masks.

Product Description

The Mirage Liberty by ResMed is a hybrid version that fuses a nasal pillow mask with a full-face CPAP mask. How did ResMed do this? The product has a mouth cushion that allows the user to breathe in and out through the mouth and nasal pillow cushions that plug directly into the nose.

Having a hybrid full-face mask with nasal pillows will benefit users who have a narrow nose bridge, as it is difficult for them to find a mask that provides a seal that doesn’t blow CPAP air into the eyes. This option offers all the nasal pillow cushion sizes (small, medium, and large) and the mouth-cushion size you will need.

Mirage Liberty is a full-face CPAP mask that seals individually at the mouth and the nose. This mask has nasal pillows with trampoline action, which allows it to be flexible and flow with the user’s movement without getting dislodged. With less skin contact and an open field of vision, this unobtrusive mask feels light on the face.

With a fit range of over 90 percent of users, the ResMed Mirage Liberty full-face CPAP mask is ideal for patients seeking a comfortable alternative to conventional full-face CPAP masks. The Liberty mouth cushion and dual-wall nasal pillows with trampoline action enhance the mask’s comfort and seal at both points, delivering quiet therapy and a good night’s sleep. Mirage Liberty guarantees all-around stability and comfort with a supportive crown-shaped headgear that keeps the mask securely in place.

What Style of CPAP Mask is This?

This is a full face style CPAP mask. These masks use a silicone cushion that provides a seal around the
nose and mouth to allow the user to breathe through both.

Will This Brand
of CPAP Mask Work with My CPAP or Bi-Level Machine?

Most CPAP masks are designed
to be universal and will work with any manufacturer. Example: Your Philips
Respironics CPAP mask will work with your ResMed CPAP machine. The masks are
also designed to fit any brand of standard 22mm CPAP tubing. The exception to
the rule will be for certain travel CPAP machines like the ResMed AirMini
whereas special masks and connectors are needed.

I Want to Submit a Self-Claim to My Insurance. Can I Do
This?

In most cases you can submit a claim form for an out-of-net
network provider. You may receive reimbursement back from your provider
depending on your coverage and co-pay. The HCPC code for a full face CPAP mask
is A7030 and A7035

How Often Should I Replace This Mask?

This will depend on how well you clean and maintain your
CPAP mask. The typical lifespan for the complete mask is 3-12 months based on
care. The cushion seal and headgear should be replaced every 1-3 months based
on wear and tear. Signs to replace will include noticeable mask leakage and/or
discoloration.

How Do I Clean This Mask?

You should consult the owner’s manual that is included with
your mask system. The rule of thumb for most CPAP masks is to clean with mild
soap by hand and let air dry. It is important to clean your cushion seal daily
to remove facial oils, makeup or dirt that can cause mask leaks. Your headgear
strap should be cleaned by hand weekly and left to dry by room air.

This mask kept me from ditching this whole idea!

This mask has saved me from throwing this whole cpap concept literally out the window. I have been suffering with finding the right fit for 3 months. The masks were leaving scars on my nose or choking me with air leaks while sleeping. I tried to fashion a design myself by buying hoses etc and rigging it up i was so desperate. But on browsing this site i saw this. It is great that the nose pads (i use small) actually enter the nostril giving a great seal and the mouth piece covers your lower face in case you also are a mouth breather. It took a week to get it adjusted just right but now i get a 100 on my nightly app readout. The best i got before was 65. Thank you whoever invented this. Just a warning I had to pay for this myself because concentric said it is being discontinued. So buy it and the extra parts too. You wont regret it. I am finally able to sleep through the night without ripping the stupid mask off my face at 4 am. Yippee.

The Best!!!

Absolutely the best. I've used it for 10 years. I add a small piece of plastic tape to hold the nose pillows in place and it just doesn't leak as do most all of the others. My sleep doctor is amazed every time I go in as he says he never sees anything as good as this, and always asks how do it. I cant recommend it enough. I just hope they never stop making it, as everything else I have tired as has been terrible in comparison.

The best full face mask I have ever tried.

Such a comfortable mask for a full face. The only one I can tolerate CPAP treatment with. It’s great for side sleeping too.
