A Tried & Tested Water Chamber Cleaning Tip

I’ve been using successfully the DeVillbiss Intellipap Standard Model for over 7 years. I’ve just upgraded to a new ResMed AirMini set up, keeping my DeVillbiss cleaned & stored away for backup emergencies. Here’s a DeVillbiss water tank cleaning tip: While firmly closed, drop 2 drops Dawn dishwasher fluid into the chamber intake holes. Over a sink, follow w/ very warm water to 3/4 full. Turn chamber sideways so intake holes are either pointing L or R. Shake vigorously to create cleaning suds for 2 to 3 mins. DO NOT HIT THE CHAMBER ON THE EDGE OF THE SINK NOR AGAINST THE FAUCET. Invert chamber pointing the holes into sink; shake out the sudsy water. Repeat warm/hot water filling & shaking procedure as above until no suds remain. Open chamber & air dry on a clean, dry facecloth w/ halves facing down to drain. Voilà! Easy-peasy!

Confused by Other review

I own this machine and change the tub often as needed. It works every time. Not really sure why the other reviewer posted that but I give it 2 thumbs up.

Very hard to clean.

Obviously this is an essential part of the CPAP, and required ... but the designt of the bottom half makes it incredibly difficult to clean properly unless you put it in the dishwasher (which is permitted per the instructions - top shelf only). I travel a lot and do not have access to a dishwasher. I would wish for a simpler design. The ResMed S9 for example has just a simple tub which is easy to clean.
