ResMed H5i Cleanable Water Chamber

The ResMed H5i cleanable water chamber tub is the reservoir used in the S9 series CPAP machine humidifier. A heated humidifier adds moisture to the pressurized air delivered from your CPAP to prevent dryness and throat irritation. It is recommended to use distilled water in your water tub and to rinse out daily to prevent mineral build up. The use of regular tap water that is left in the water chamber tub will result in corrosion build up. This ResMed product is dishwasher safe. The cleanable tub can be opened and either hand washed or placed in a dishwasher for easy cleaning.

Can I Use Tap Water to Fill My CPAP Humidifier Water Tank?

It is recommended to always use distilled water for your CPAP humidifier. Bottled or tap water contains harsh minerals that can cause buildup and damage your equipment.

How Often Should I Fill the CPAP Water Tank?

The frequency to fill or change your water can be dependent on multiple factors including time of year and your machine settings. Typically, in summer months you will notice the use of your air conditioner may slow the rate of your CPAP water use while wintertime will make you fill it daily.

How do I Clean the Water Chamber Tank?

You should clean the water chamber regularly. A good method is to wash it with a solution of mild dish soap and warm water, then rinse it thoroughly. You can also soak it in a solution of one part white vinegar to two parts water for 10 minutes before rinsing well.

Why is it Important to Clean My CPAP Equipment?

Bacteria and mold build up is possible if the right CPAP cleaning procedures are ignored. Failure to clean or replace your supplies can lead to illness.
