Ultra Fine CPAP Filters for DreamStation

This Product DOES NOT Require a Prescription

Product Description

Disposable ultrafine filters are used with all the DreamStation CPAP and BiPAP machines. The filter is housed in a blue frame that is permanently attached and cannot be separated. If they become separated, dispose of the filter, and replace it with a new one.

The disposable DreamStation filters are an essential component in maintaining your CPAP or BiPAP machine by removing dust, pollen, and tobacco smoke particles prior to entering the CPAP or BiPAP airflow.

The filters should not be cleaned; simply replace the filter when it becomes dirty or at least on a monthly basis. A dirty filter can affect the machine’s ability to work properly and can alter the life expectancy of your CPAP or BiPAP.

Special Features

These filters are made to only work with the DreamStation CPAP or BiPAP machines and should not be used with a different machine.

These DreamStation filters can be used in conjunction with the Reusable Pollen Filter. To attach the disposable filter to the reusable filter, place it underneath the reusable filter with the slotted side facing up and the longer edge facing the side of the reusable filter that faces the outside of the machine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do You Clean an Original Philips DreamStation CPAP Filter?

Like most things, your Philips DreamStation CPAP machine should always be clean to keep the pollen filter optimal and to let you enjoy a good night’s sleep. This would mean replacing the disposable ultrafine Respironics DreamStation filter. It’s important to understand that this should not be washed or attempted to be cleaned, as that can do more harm than good.

You will know when to replace the Philips Respironics DreamStation ultrafine filter. This is available for the CPAP and BiPAP machines offered.

How Often Do You Change DreamStation Filters?

Our disposable CPAP and BiPAP DreamStation filters can last up to four weeks, but that entirely depends on where you live. If you live in a dusty place or share a home with pets and rowdy kids, you may have to replace your filter earlier, as the Philips DreamStation filter may not work as promised. Another thing to keep in mind is to replace the tubing annually for optimal results, and it should be cleaned frequently.

What Causes CPAP Filter to Turn Black?

Common causes as to why Philips Respironics CPAP DreamStation filters may turn black is because of the dirty air. If you don’t clean your Philips Respironics regularly as advised or replace the ultrafine filter as directed, it will accumulate and may cause you more harm than good. The usual culprit that causes your Respironics ultrafine filter to turn black would be sleeping near candles. This may even blacken newly replaced filters.

Can I Use My CPAP without a Filter?

It’s not advised to use this without a filter.

How Often Should I Replace My Filters?

To make sure that the air quality you breathe during the
night is high and safe, you need to replace or clean the CPAP filters
periodically. If you have pets, have someone in your home who smokes, or have a
wood-burning stove, you will need to replace the filters more regularly. Disposable
CPAP filters should be replaced every 1-3 months. You cannot reuse them. You
will want to change the disposable in-line bacteria filters every 30 days.

Reusable filters should be replaced every 12-24 months depending
on routine maintenance.

How Do I Clean My Machine Filter?

Unless your machine uses a reusable filter, it is recommended
to dispose of the CPAP filter and not attempt to clean and reuse. Disposable filters
are typically made of a thin white material and should be disposed/replaced
when noticeable build up can be seen or it has been 3 months. Reusable filters
are made of foam-like material and can be cleaned by hand and left to air dry.

I Want to Submit a Self-Claim to My Insurance. Can I Do
This?

In most cases you can submit a claim form for an out-of-net
network provider. You may receive reimbursement back from your provider
depending on your coverage and co-pay. The HCPC code for disposable CPAP
filters is A7038. The HCPC code for reusable CPAP filters is A7039.

Do I Need a Prescription for This Product?

No, machine and mask parts do not require a prescription for
purchase. Often you can prolong the life of your CPAP machine by replacing your
CPAP filter on a frequent basis!
