M Series or System One 50 or 60 Series Filters

This Product DOES NOT Require a Prescription

Product Description

Foam Pollen Filters made by Spirit Medical are made to the specifications and requirements to be used with Philips Respironics System One 50 or 60 Series Platforms, M-Series Platforms as well as SleepEasy II. The filters are made of foam, are 1 11/16 inches long and 15/16 inches wide and are cleanable with warm soapy water.

Filters are designed to filtrate the incoming air that the machine pulls in to generate your pressure while using your CPAP or Bi-PAP machine. Ultra Fine Filters are also available to add filtration of room air prior to you breathing it through the machine.

The filters are non-disposable and are meant for cleaning monthly, but never put a wet filter into your machine as it could cause damage. Always have a second filter handy to place in the machine while cleaning the dirty filter. Even though the filters are cleanable, they are meant to be replaced every 6-9 months depending on how polluted your air is in your house.

You will typically see the filter develop an area of dust particles that have been built up if not cleaned frequently. If you see this occurring or have never changed your filters, you need to make sure you keep up with the cleaning to prevent damage. It is extremely important to change this filter and should be considered as important as your Home Furnace filter! Lack of cleaning of the pollen filter and switching of an Ultra Fine Filter could cause your CPAP or Bi-PAP machine to overwork and eventually fail!

The Ultra Fine always goes in first with the Tab up and then the pollen filter follows. These filters are designed with the customer in mind. Ultra Fine Filters have a tab so you can easily remove the filter from the back of the machine.

How Often Should I Replace My Filters?

To make sure that the air quality you breathe during the
night is high and safe, you need to replace or clean the CPAP filters
periodically. If you have pets, have someone in your home who smokes, or have a
wood-burning stove, you will need to replace the filters more regularly. Disposable
CPAP filters should be replaced every 1-3 months. You cannot reuse them. You
will want to change the disposable in-line bacteria filters every 30 days.

Reusable filters should be replaced every 12-24 months depending
on routine maintenance.

How Do I Clean My Machine Filter?

Unless your machine uses a reusable filter, it is recommended
to dispose of the CPAP filter and not attempt to clean and reuse. Disposable filters
are typically made of a thin white material and should be disposed/replaced
when noticeable build up can be seen or it has been 3 months. Reusable filters
are made of foam-like material and can be cleaned by hand and left to air dry.

I Want to Submit a Self-Claim to My Insurance. Can I Do
This?

In most cases you can submit a claim form for an out-of-net
network provider. You may receive reimbursement back from your provider
depending on your coverage and co-pay. The HCPC code for disposable CPAP
filters is A7038. The HCPC code for reusable CPAP filters is A7039.

Do I Need a Prescription for This Product?

No, machine and mask parts do not require a prescription for
purchase. Often you can prolong the life of your CPAP machine by replacing your
CPAP filter on a frequent basis!
