Product Description

Many new users to CPAP may be confused about which model is right for them. On one hand you have Auto CPAP devices and on the other you have a fixed pressure "standard CPAP" machine, so what's the difference? The ResMed Airsense 10 Elite CPAP machine with Humidair heated humidifier, a fixed pressure model, provides one setting of therapy throughout your night's sleep and does not fluctuate from that setting unless a ramp feature is enabled. Ramp increases therapy from a lower pressure to the prescribed amount over a period of time to allow you to fall asleep on a lower setting. Fixed pressure devices are the most commonly prescribed devices and your physician establishes this number (i.e. 8cm/H2O) based on your titration from the sleep lab. In cases where a home sleep test was used and an auto CPAP trialed, he/she may set it based on a compliance report of the median average of therapy needed.

We program your sleep apnea therapy settings as listed on your CPAP prescription and can make changes to your prescribed level as they adjust over time via an SD card that can be mailed to our office. Many veteran users of CPAP therapy elect to use a fixed setting they have used and are comfortable with (some even elect to forego the ramp feature). The ResMed AirSense 10 Elite CPAP machine with Humidair heated technology continues the superior quality of therapy devices where the S9 Elite left off. Still available in the new model is EPR (expiratory pressure relief) as well as new modification to ramp setting with AutoRamp. SmartStart allows the user to put on his/her mask and begin breathing and the machine will turn on to start sleep therapy. Meanwhile, the AirSense 10 Elite CPAP features an intuitive interface with a color LCD screen, an ambient light sensor, and a quiet easy breathe motor to provide a peaceful environment to you and your bed partner.

Special Features

  • The AirSense 10 Elite CPAP machine with HumidAir heated integrated humidifier is a premium fixed pressure device with integrated humidification. You can use the ClimateLine Air heated hose or SlimLine lightweight hose.
  • AutoRamp technology starts your therapy pressure at a low setting and increases therapy pressure thanks to sleep onset detection technology. This is a great feature for new CPAP users to adjust to pressure as they wake up throughout the night - the device will drop to low pressure to allow the user to get back to sleep faster without the feeling of an overwhelming high pressure setting and without the need to manually hit the ramp button on the CPAP machine again.
  • ClimateLine Air compatibility means that the Humidair integrated heated humidifier is now a standard feature and the option to purchase with standard SlimLine hose tubing or ClimateLine heated hose tubing. The heated tube is great for people that are sensitive to dryness from the use of CPAP and it keeps necessary humidity delivered throughout the entire hose to increase patient compliance and provide optimal treatment.
  • Advanced Event Detection can tell the difference between obstructive sleep apnea events or central apnea events (central sleep apnea is treated with Bi-level therapy or ASV therapy and is most often not treated with standard CPAP machine pressure).
  • SmartStart allows you to simply put the mask on and start breathing which will initiate the AirSense 10 Elite CPAP device to turn on automatically and begin therapy. Please note these device settings are not activated when we ship your AirSense 10 unless you specify otherwise.

Q: How do I Adjust the AirSense/AirCurve 10 Comfort Settings?

A: To access and personalize your settings on the AirSense/AirCurve 10 machine, rotate the dial to highlight "My Options." Once the desired option is highlighted, press the dial to view and adjust your current settings.

Q: How Do I Adjust the Humidifier Settings?

A: In My Options, turn the dial to highlight Humidity Level and then press the dial.

Turn the dial to adjust the humidity level and press the dial to save the change. If you’re getting a dry nose or mouth, turn up the humidity. If you’re getting any moisture in your mask, turn down the humidity.

The humidifier enhances the air's moisture content, ensuring a more comfortable therapeutic experience. Equipped with the Climate Control enhanced Auto setting, this device automatically adjusts temperature and humidity to optimal levels for maximum comfort. Simply plug it in, press Start and enjoy a relaxing treatment.

You can also manually set the Humidity Level to Off or between 1 and 8, where 1 is the lowest humidity setting and 8 is the highest humidity setting. (Note: if you’re using a ClimateLineAir™ heated tube, you will need to turn the Climate Control setting on your device from “Auto” to “Manual” to access the humidity level setting.)

Q: How Do I Adjust Ramp Time?

A: In My Options, turn the dial to highlight Ramp Time and then press the dial.

Turn the dial to adjust the ramp time to your preferred setting and press the dial to save the change. Ramp Time is designed to make the beginning of therapy more comfortable and is the period during which the airflow pressure increases from a low start pressure to your prescribed treatment pressure. You can set your Ramp Time to Off, from 5 to 45 minutes.

Q: How Often Should I Replace AirSense/AirCurve 10 Machine Parts?

A: Regularly maintain your CPAP supplies, as dirt and wear can affect them. Check the water tub, air tubing, and filter frequently for damage.

Water Tank: Replace if it is leaking or has become cracked, cloudy or pitted. Replace if the seal is cracked or torn. Remove any white powder deposits using a solution of one part household vinegar to 10 parts water.

Hose Tubing: Replace if there are any holes, tears or cracks.

Machine Filter: Check the air filter and replace it at least every six months. Replace it more often if there are any holes or blockages by dirt or dust.
