System One 60 Series Auto CPAP Machine with Heated Tube Humidifier by Philips Respironics
The Auto CPAP Machine is a machine that is being used more and more in the sleep industry. The machine reacts to your sleeping pattern each night! Compared to a fix pressure CPAP machine that stays at one fixed pressure all night/ every night, the Auto CPAP will adjust with you every night!
The best part of an Auto CPAP machines is that it will adjust based on your needs throughout the year! If you have weight gain/ loss, medical changes or other symptoms that could change your therapeutic pressure needs, the Auto CPAP would compensate for those adjustments or changes! If a fixed pressure machinewas being used and you had significant weight loss or gain, you would most likely be advised to have
an additional sleep study to determine what pressure was needed, right? The Auto CPAP takes that additional cost away because the machine will make the adjustment automatically!
Respironics was the creator and innovator behind humidity control. This technology was the first of it's kind to sense the ambient humidity in the room. Now they have added heated tubing to this technology so the humidity
is controlled from the machine all the way through the mask. This helps reduce potential for rainout and makes for a much more comfortable night of sleep.

System One Humidity Control and Integrated Heated Tube
Respironics adds a Heated Tube to their Humidity System to create ultimate comfort and reduce "rainout" otherwise known as the annoying water in your mask. The level of relative humidity delivered to the mask is adjusted by analyzing the ambient room temperature and machine airflow. The slim 15mm Heated Tube maintains the desired temperature evenly from the machine all the way through to the mask.
You can use the on-screen menu to easily select one of three levels of relative humidity (70, 80 or 90 percent). Next, adjust the control dial to choose from 5 levels of heated tube temperature, ranging from 4 to 16 degrees above room temperature. The optimum humidification level at the mask is easy to maintain when using the PR System One 60 Series REMstar Auto CPAP with humidification assembly.
PR System One 60 Series Heated Humidifier has a re-designed humidifier resulting in an increase in surface area and greater humidification output. Respironics has reformatted to work with the Heated Tube which easily snaps on and off the humidifier port.
New Modern Design in the 60 Series
The PR System One 60 Series REMstar Auto CPAP and Heated Humidifier displays an updated look with a rich charcoal color and metallic silver as accents on the control and side panels. The control dial has been redesigned to make it easier to understand.
Philips Respironics Flex Family Technology
Flex technology is groundbreaking in CPAP compliance. People new to CPAP therapy find adapting to treatment much easier when the airflow pressure is reduced during exhallation. The 60 Series Auto CPAP offers C-Flex, C-Flex Plus and A-Flex modes. You can choose what mode to used based on your therapy. This machine can be set at auto mode or fixed pressure CPAP Mode.
C-Flex delivers comfortable sleep therapy through pressure relief at exhalation. Pressure is lowered based on a breath-per-breath analysis and provides up to 3 levels of relief based on the user's expiratory flow.
C-Flex Plus softens the breathing cycle between inhalation and exhalation based on expiratory flow. It minimizes the transition between pressures and provides greater comfort when in the fixed-pressure CPAP mode.
The A-Flex comfort feature is built on top of the REMstar Auto algorithm which provides the lowest pressure needed to keep the airway open during sleep. A-Flex adjusts to deliver pressure as needed to eliminate breathing events without raising it too high.
System One Resistance Control
In order to deliver optimal pressure Respironics developed a numbering system to note the resistance characteristics of each mask. Using the Resistance Control number, the machine compensates for the mask being used to provide a consistent and reliable pressure. Each mask is made with what is called an
intentional leak. The Resistance control understand's these leaks and adjusts accordingly always delivering optimal pressure for your therapy.
On Screen Data Display
Sleep data is available on the display screen of the System One 60 Series REMstar Auto CPAP machine. See the Apnea/Hypopnea Index, leak rate as well as the 7 and 30 day average pressure readings. Data is stored in both an on-board memory and a generic SD memory card. This technology can be very usefull if your doctor needs to see if a new pressure is working quickly. It can also be beneficial if
you feel like your experiencing heavy mask leaks or a change in therapy. You typically want to see your AHI recording at or below the number 5. If it is much higher than 5, contact your physician about the AHI recording being higher than 5. 1800CPAP.com can print you a report of your therapy progress by sending us your data card.
Important Compatibility Note of the PR System One 60 Series
The components of the PR System One 60 Series REMstar Auto CPAP with Heated Humidifier and Heated Tube can only be used together as a system. The Heated Tube CANNOT BE used with the PR System One Heated Humidifier (standard) DS6H. The Heated Tube MUST be used with the Heated Tube Humidifier (DS6T)!
There are two different power supplies available with the 60 Series Platform! One is a 60 watt power supply used only by the S or HS models and the other is a 80 watt power supply used with the TS model (Heated Tubing Model).
The PR System One 60 Series CPAP or Bi-PAP Machines are not compatible with earlier versions of the PR System One Heated Humidifier otherwise known as the 50 Series. This can be found by the model number on the bottom of your machine or humidifier. If your product has a 50 (DS250S), it is a 50 Series and if it has a 60 (DS260S), it is a 60 Series. If you need assistance figuring out which model you have or want, contact 1800CPAP.com for assistance.
The PR System One 60 Series Platform is FAA Approved
- Approved by the FAA for use on all commercial flights within the US and all international flights that depart or arrive in the US.
- Each PR System One Series CPAP/BiPAP Machine includes an FAA Approved label on the base of the machine for easy identification.
- Always contact your airline prior to your flight to confirm any requirements they may have -- such as a copy of your prescription and/or a letter of medical necessity -- for allowing your CPAP/BiPAP on board.
